As we deliberated where to go for Christmas, we first thought of snow. Where would it be a guarantee for snow this Christmas in Europe? The Alps! Of course! Something we still aren’t used to living in London, is how many days off work Jeff gets. In the U.S., we get two weeks and holidays, period. All told in London, it’s about thirty days, and despite all of our traveling this year (nine countries in twelve months), he still has a few extra days to carry over for next year. So, an extra long trip was definitely in order this Christmas.

I’m quite happy with the way it turned out. For awhile after I finished it, I felt that it was missing something, like some kind of edging along the bottom of the front panels, but after wearing it on Christmas, I now think it’s just fine the way it is.
The majority of the make up is in the Crocodile stitch, but I also used the Fairy Shell stitch, the same stitch I used for my Faerie Blossom wristwarmers, from the book “Crochet Stitches Visual™ Encyclopedia“, for the front panels and the hood.
For the closure I used a pin that I had that I thought looked cute on it. My daughter had an idea for a jewel closure, by taking a gemstone or a plastic/glass faceted jewel and attaching it to a pin backing. I really like that idea, because I can make a few pins of different colored jewels for a changing splash of color when I wear it. Before That, I was having trouble deciding what I wanted to do for a closure. I thought about buttons or snaps, but I like the pin idea better.
About writing this up in a written pattern format, I’ve been waffling on the idea. I realized after it was finishing that It’s not something that I could easily translate into other sizes. I, myself, am a very small framed individual and this is custom made to fit me. If my daughter wanted to wear it, I doubt she’d be able to get her hands through the sleeves, because I made it so the forearms between the cuff and the first increase before my elbow is a snug fit and I even have to squeeze my hands through that part, and I have very small hands.
If I do write this, it would definitely be a pattern for the experienced stitcher. I would only give the starting stitches for the cuffs on the sleeves and the beginning of the hood, but everything else, all measurements, from the width/length of the back and front, the length of the sleeves, even when to start the increases and how many increases to make for the sleeves, would be left to the individual crocheter. This would definitely be a project made to fit the individual it’s being made for. Of course, I would have the stitch patterns and finishing all written out and a stitch gauge to get started. It also definitely would not be a free pattern.

Is there anything about this baby, born in a manger, that makes Him more special than Santa Clause? Is He really worthy of a whole Holiday season and a Winter break for the kiddos? One of the greatest problems I have with Christmas is it has so little to do with the One whom it was established for. We have forgotten the reason for the season. The established government, due to political correctness, religious equality and fear of being partial to anyone has systematically tried to eliminate the reason without removing the hoopla that is so important to the fabric of our material success.

Welcome to my world. I have been making and designing jewelry since I was 13. I took my first jewelry making workshop at the local public library with a friend when I was in high school. Slowly but surely, I caught the bug and began making jewelry for friends and family, and sold my first piece when I was 24.
As I have matured and grown, my taste in jewelry has obviously changed as well — I love simple pieces that can be layered with whatever I own. I love my hand made jewelry, but I layer them with my favorite designer pieces for a classic look. I tend to gravitate towards sterling silver and gemstone, but also use vermeil and solid copper. I am very sensitive to the metaphysical properties of certain gemstones, so I take that into account as I deign pieces as well.

This series is the product of more than 8 years spent taking 17,285 “selfies” from more than 16,000 women off the Internet, from their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts to create the female characters in this story. What I did was go online and hoard thousands of these pictures, placing them into my Photoshop account and twisting, distorting, and contorting their pictures into hideous, anguished shapes, and then simply writing about what came to mind from looking at these hideous, depraved images. The result were the women of the Ordo Rosarius Thelima Cult Of Love, the perfect pagan warlords of the Hyperborean Empire, in the far future world. Here is the story, I hope you all enjoy.

Her dress was woven from spider silk infused with silkworm fibers, and woven on a microscopic level so that every hem of the dress was in the shape of an organism, every known organism on Earth. Covering the dress were hundreds of iridescent precious stones, each one reflecting light in such a way that viewed from a certain angle, it made her look almost invisible, just a shimmering outline of her figure was barely seen. The dress itself was red and black, with huge, yellow eyespots in the black parts of the dress and black eyespots in the red parts of the dress that seemed to blink when sunlight hit it at certain angles or shine with an ethereal, calming glow when the moonlight hit it at night. The whole dress shined an eerie, fluorescent purple in ultraviolet light, and had large roaring dragon designs embroidered on it, each with a microscopic picture of an organism consisting of each individual hem. The dress was enormous and supported by the bones of her Mithras ritual sacrifice victims, much like whalebones were used to make a corset. The part of the dress that covered her torso and chest was the most heavily decorated, with huge dragonfly wings made of woven yarn and glittered with sea salt dust and sand coming out of her back, these were folded under her cape and veil and could be spread at will, even though Toni can’t fly. Her necklace was more like an Egyptian queen’s brooch, made of solid gold with a huge sapphire in the center, just visible under the bird-of-paradise feather scarves. She also wore a tiara of autumn leaves on her head, on the crown of the three-headed crane helmet, whose three heads are arranged in such a way that they defy the Euclidean geometric form, therefore making her dress impossible to create without immense, physics-bending telekinetic attacks. Her shoes were huge black-velvet Gothic Lolita platform shoes, with razor-sharp dagger-high heels, but these were not visible under her huge dress. there still are silver mines in san diego county California USA . about 10 years ago I was trying to find the road over the mountains. Driving through the reservation san paul mission, went over mount diablo. down the road a ways. drove past a sign saying , silver mine. Very twisting Road. I understand there are a few silver mines still in operation. the Mission Road and near that mountain on the other side of the Oceanside. on the way to Borrego springs. got as far as the very spot where yogananda had a picture taken of himself . saw it in an assertive periodical. He was standing in front of the same large stone with a bronze plack, overlooking the borrego valley. Yogananda, Rajesh and Mr Lewis hand a land deal going on at one time in the Borrego desert valley . I guess the idea was they were going to break up 1 large parcel into a lot of little parcels. that was the quickest way over the mountain to the valley itself. Rajesh did establish a house and farm in the Borrego Valley. Yogananda are treat center but it was long time vandalized. along with Rajesh very modern house. I have seen pictures of his house recently. I am pretty sure the house had a swimming pool. The farm close buy, very large. Have seen pictures of him standing holding a cabbage in a SRF periodical dedicated to him. wanted very much to visit there. never been able to . the closest I have been is to that spot mentioned above. my plan now is to go around to the back side and enter Borrego from the desert side. yes, there is still silver in san diego county, 10.4.14 thinking about rock formations in vista. at one time in vista and san Marcos thats were a lot of surface gemstones were found before 1960 . Almost all the large stone formations are gone. .sad such beautiful structures . the plaser mine is still there strange they haven’t filled it in.even though it is accessible. Accessible through the green waist area gate. reprocessing to green waste into topsoil.
