Kittens, swords and loved one's ashes stolen from Sylvan Lake home

Two kittens, two Samurai swords, two laptops and one handmade wooden urn containing human ashes were among the items stolen in a break and enter near Sylvan Lake, according to police.
Sylvan Lake RCMP are investigating the bizarre break and enter and requesting the public’s help in locating several items including “a stolen urn containing the ashes of a lost loved one.”
In a news release issued Sunday, Sylvan Lake RCMP said sometime between Dec. 17 and Dec. 27, 2014, a rural residence south of Sylvan Lake was ransacked. The stolen items included an urn described as a handmade wooden box with a floral design containing human ashes.
“Obviously, this item is of significant sentimental importance to the victim’s family,” stated RCMP in the release.
The other stolen items, as listed by RCMP, included: two kittens, a significant quantity of men’s and women’s jewelry, two Samurai swords, 11 firearms, a MacBook Air laptop and a Toshiba laptop.
RCMP said a 2009 blue Honda CRV vehicle was also stolen, but later found in Penhold.
