Responsibility plays a big role when using social media. Responsibility on line is different then in life responsibility because what one does/comments or makes on the internet stays with them almost forever. Responsibility is the state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone. So from personal experience I think its easier to take responsibility in person rather than online, because what you say online can be misconstrued and used agent you even though its completely the opposite from what one was trying to say.So social media and responsibility go hand in hand since almost anyone can see. So making “funny” comments under someones social media page can almost ruin you. It is almost like “trolling”,which is most commonly sen on Facebook more than any other social networking site.Trolling is “Typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent by-stander”(Urban-dictionary). Because what you do know can effect you later on like trying to apply for a job or something of that nature like applying to certain colleges.
Social media today can be detrimental to a person.Because the internet is accessible by anyone , and everyone people sometimes run in to troublesome individuals under their particular post. This in my opinion happens the most under youtube videos of any kind, and celebrities Instagram photos. On my fist picture below shows the sites that have the most “trolling”.Everything about social media is not negative, there is also an upside to it. Things such as being able to find out instantly  what is happening in the news, able to look into some celebrities, and other peoples lives, and is a good way to promote businesses or parties. Being able to do small things like sharing a picture to help find a younger child is a great example of why social media is a good way of communication because one wouldn’t be able to share what happens by word of mouth without messing up the statement, or communicating to as many people as one post on a social network can
Today social media and responsibility affect my generation tremendously, by the new trends that are being set, and it influences my generation. In my community the teenagers and little kids tend to do what they see their role models do. The role models are usually rapers ,rap groups ,or singers like K.Michelle. These people influence their followers, intentional or not. My generation also tends to follow their sports idols. Since social media is a way into someones life it is easy for someone to pick up another persons habits. Such as like when rappers show their jewelry or significant others on Instagram, teens tend to think this is almost what ones goal is in life. Not knowing that rapper or sports idol does much more than just rap,or play a sport. They get education. It is almost like a one sided mirror. Teens reflect what they see, but only see one side. So I would have to say social media affects my generation negatively because most teenagers minds aren’t developed enough to know what is realistic, and real goals are.
From a teens perspective,
