Teething baby, screaming, drooling. pulling at their mouth, up all night, no sleep. If you are a mom you have more than likely been there a couple of times. So the new thing now is Amber teething necklaces. How do they work??? Well did a little research and found this – when beads made of Baltic amber are worn against your baby’s skin, body heat triggers the release of a minute amount of oil that contains succinic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body. When the oil is absorbed, fans of these beads say it has an analgesic effect on swollen, sore gums. My ONLY one and ONLY problem with this is – the beads are small, When I got offered to test this necklace out I had seen them around and thought who in the world would put that on their child – that could break and the child choke on the beads!!! Then I received this one. It showed up in a very pretty little bag.
So I take it out to inspect it and I see that it is extremely well made, and the stones are all smooth and on the necklace very tight – the necklace itself it a tightly woven material – I pulled and tugged on it and no resistance.
It is big enough to go around most babies necks – but uh no not even going to do that – it scares me. But I will settle for it going on my nieces ankle. It is big enough that you can wrap it around the ankle a few times and it not be too snug. I would suggest when the baby discovers their feet maybe finding a different area to put it once they can start pulling on it just in case. And check it daily to make sure there isnt any wear and tear that could cause it to break easier than when you first put it on them.
Does it work? I would say so, all my mommy friends swear by it. And a couple of them have never had even one iota of problems when their baby was teething. This one is well made and just beautiful. And it came with a bonus. Which i LOVE.
