Yes, I know the Grammy’s was a a week ago today, but as a young woman managing Fashion Xchange Magazine and building her image consulting brand, The Savvy Wearapist, I constantly fight for the time to write in my personal blog. I’ve compiled a list of my fave red carpet looks from the 57th Annual Grammy Awards for all my savvy style mavens to enjoy. There were a lot of hits and misses as to expect on any red carpet, but the highs were so amazing, I just HAD to share my approval in the form of a love note in my blog!
One of my favorite looks of the evening was Taylor Swift. She looked like a radiant IT GIRL in a teal Elie Saab gown with peek-a-boo slits at the arms and a train for days! I absolutely loved the high/low bodice with the front showing off her lovely long legs and exemplifying glamour from the back. The lavender pop of color at the ankle by Giuseppe Zanotti was the perfect choice and the light green Lorraine Schwartz earrings finished the look…making her look like an absolute dream.

Bow down to the Queen of ‘Getting Physical’ Jane Fonda. This woman is 77 and still able to put style mavens 3/4 her age to shame!! My eyes lit up with delight when I set my gaze on Fonda in her emerald green Balmain pantsuit and necklace. Shoes by Jimmy Choo, purse by Paula Cadematori and earrings and bracelet by Vhernier Jewelry…this woman was the ultimate head turner on the carpet, leaving people to wonder where is her fountain of youth in health AND style?!

Grey is one of my all time colors because it can so easily be dressed up or down and it always looks comfortable to wear. John Legend looks assuredly dapper in this perfectly proportioned Dolce & Gabanna suit with a shawl collar in soft grey.

When does Jennifer Lopez ever disappoint? In my eyes, never! J. Lo looks stunning in a sparkly Zuhair Murad Autumn / Winter 2014 Couture Collection gown, complete with a floor sweeping gown, plunging neckline and thigh high slit paired with nude Jimmy Choo single strapped shoes and a tube clutch. Her signature to her style literally is her curvaceous bombshell body…  She owns this elegant look like the diva of style that she is…unapologetically.                                                                  unnamed
Gwen Stefani has always been one of my favorite style mavens. Take one glance at her asymmetrical beaded jumpsuit by Atelier Versace and you’ll understand why. Her chic, polished look is consistent and works wonderfully with her. She truly knows her personal style inside out and it is exemplified in this noteworthy look. I love how she swapped out her signature red lip for a gorgeous nude lip and swooped up hair to show off her long, elegant neck. Her look is polished off with Christian Louboutin shoes, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and her signature red nail polish. Simply fab dahling!

I nearly had to take a double take when I saw the soulful John Mayer rocking a color trifecta on stage – much unlike what we’re accustomed to seeing him don. Channeling the long departed musician Buddy Holly, Mayer goes nostalgic wearing a deep navy blue suit, burgundy bow tie and pink guitar. My favorite part about the look were the tortoiseshell frame glasses we’ve never seen him sport. So retro…so cool.

No matter what people say about her music or her avant-garde style…I love Sia. As an artist, I am always drawn to people with standout style and ways of performing, both of which Sia does without question. Maddie Ziegler, the young girl that is the star of her “Chandelier” video and has performed with her on many shows graced the red carpet with her. I love the oversized white wigs, red lipstick and start black garment selection. She may be have a unique way of performing by singing with her back faced to the audience, but doesn’t fail to fall in line with what’s fashionable. Sia and Maddie are wearing Armani Prive.

Ciara looks amazing post baby body! I have a fashion affinity for asymmetrical looks and this black Alexander Vauthier couture gown flows like a waterfall down her new in shape physique. She’s always been a well-known fashionista and this dress shows she’s maintaining that status.

Jay-Z. Simplicity is truly a don’s best asset. To look so composed and dashing should be a crime. He made an appearance in a dark navy Burberry English-woven wool and mohair tuxedo with black silk lapels. He’s looking good and likely feeling good after sippin’ on that brown liquor underneath his seat!  ;)

Bay Area born and raised fashion darling Zendaya truly transformed her look for this year’s Grammy red carpet in a jazzy, high-slit Vivienne Westwood gown with bold brows, a vampy lip, sparkling ear cuff and a choppy super-short wig.

The biggest winner of the night, the “Stay With Me” singer Sam Smith emits quiet confidence in an Armani suit, only one of the several looks he wore throughout the night.

Rhianna is my favorite fashion guru because not only does she rock her looks without hesitation…she OWNS them alll! You have to give it toRiRi when it comes to this standout bubblegum pinkGiambattista Valli couture silk and tulle gown featuring embroideries paired with Chopard jewelry. No matter if she’s rocking a red carpet or street style, she undoubtedly knows how to effortlessly and beautifully steal the show.
