Essential for children is of course the House of Music (LAC 282), where visitors are prompted to engage in interactive play with music. The yellow Vienna Ring Tram (LAC 288) leaves from Schwedenplatz and goes once around the Ring. With audio guides in many languages you can learn all about the Ringstrasse, which in 2015 celebrates its 150th anniversary. This is exciting for children who otherwise ride by car.
Not far from there, is the State Hall of the Austrian National Library (LAC 284) at Josefsplatz, one of the world’s most beautiful historic libraries. It shows an exhibition about angels in all religions until February. With the same ticket you can also visit three other small museums, the Globe and Esperanto Museum in Herrengasse and the Papyrus Museum in the National Library.
Furthermore, you can visit the famous Lippizaner horses (LAC 286) observing them during their morning’s work and the Winter Palace of Prince Eugene of Savoy (LC 289), which shows contemporary exhibitions. You might also visit the Secession (LAC 285) on a guided tour at the weekend and learn more about the beautiful Art Nouveau building and Gustav Klimt.
