   Hello everybody!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Here is a blog on Valentine’s Day.  Thanks for reading it!
Valentine’s Day, is also known as Saint Valentine’s Day or Feast of Saint Valentine.  This day is celebrated globally, but is not considered a public holiday.  This day is associated with romantic love.  It can be celebrated with roses, candy, chocolate, greeting cards, and diamond jewelry just to name a few.  Valentine’s Day is symbolized with heart shape outlines, doves, winged cupid, and others.  Saint Valentine wore a purple amethyst ring; that perhaps reflects the birthstone of February, and is meant to attract love.  There are some individuals that take to the pen and write poetry; hence expressing themselves via feelings of love to another person. Some people renew their marriage vows on this special day. One maybe asking him or her self, how does Valentine’s Day tie in with an abused victim or survivor?  In my opinion, an abused victim takes the blame for what had happened to them; thus hating themselves.  Healing becomes a long and difficult journey that victims take in order to become survivors. When a victim is in the process of healing or is healed; he or she can look in the mirror and say “I love myself”.  One has to love them self before they can love others. This I truly believe.  This may sound selfish, but in reality, this is a starting point.  Besides, when a victim has been selfless for most of their life, nothing is wrong with being selfish for once.  If love is too strong a word to employ when looking in the mirror; perhaps “I like myself” would suffice. “What the world needs now is love sweet love; no not just for some, but for everyone”  Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone!
