INQUIRING AND ANALYSING

INQUIRING AND ANALYSING – EXPLAIN AND JUSTIFY THE NEED

  1. Begin your Investigation. The best way is stating what is the project that you are working on and identify the problem quoting the UNIT QUESTION.
  2. Than you should be writing a paragraph that explains the Problem as you understand it. Here it is important that you express well your personal perspective of the unit question, show a little of your own experience in the subject.
  3. Write 1 or 2 separate paragraphs, which discuss the relevance of this task. Develop this idea and say why this Project is relevant or valuable.
  4. Offer a solution. You are going to create a…
  5. A product has to have a Customer. Write about who is your Target Audience and why you choose them. Ex: your peers; other students between the ages of 14-17…

INQUIRING AND ANALYSING - Identify and prioritize the research

Write a sentence or two to introduce this portion of your “Inquiring and Analysing”.
Then follow these learning objectives to success:
1 – Formulate and discuss appropriate questions (5 or 6) – that guide the investigation -this means that you should create questions and then do research that will help you solve the problem.
  • Identify and acknowledge a range of appropriate sources of information – use in-text referencing and create a bibliography.
  • Collect, analyse, select, organize and evaluate information – this deeper analysis of your research will lead to higher marks.
  • Evaluate your sources of information- who are your sources? are they appropriate? are they experts in the field? Are they reliable?
* NOTES
Sources of information:  Carefully consider the sources of information that you use.  Use experts in the field.  Remember, you will need a Work CIted.  You will need to evaluate your sources.
Don’t forget:
 1.  Make sure your research is pertinent
 2. Make sure your research is complete-it’s your responsibility to be clear and concise
 3. You need to use a range of sources
 4. Make sure your research work is clearly and attractively presented
Appropriate language to use when documenting your research:
 From my research I found out . . .
 I have discovered that . . .
 My conclusions are that . . .
I have kept my research relevant by. . .
Based on my research I can conclude  . . .

 INQUIRING AND ANALYSINGAnalysing existing Products

1 – 1- Look at 4 different 3D Projects – to gather information and ideas to make your own 3D Project (address each of the following: What worked? What didn’t? What did you like? What didn’t you like? What ideas can you use?) Pros and Cons.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

INQUIRING AND ANALYSINGDevelop a Design Brief

1 – Create a summary of your whole investigation. – This is the final section of your investigation.  Throughout the Investigation you found information that you did not have before you started the project to create the product and now you should have all the necessary information.
Your Summary should include all of this information and how this will help you create your product.
