How to Choose a Designer

I love choosing gifts…let me be clearer. I love choosing gifts for people who don’t know what they want to buy. Gifted in Israel (giftedinisrael.com) is a website and a stylist/buyer all in one. Sometimes you just don’t want to browse on a site and you still don’t want to run around shopping, you just want someone else to figure out what is in your head and come up with what you want. I love the look on the client’s face when I show them a piece of art, be it jewelry, a mug or wall hanging and it is exactly just what they wanted. Having a gift store isn’t just about stocking your store with everything that you see, but figuring out what will be of interest, exciting and unusual.
I live in a country where everywhere you live there is someone creating beauty. I walk down the road, or through an alley around the corner, just everywhere and I find an artisan whose work wows me. Beauty of course is very relative but for me it is critical in making the decision if I want a designer’s collection in my store or not that both the artisan and collection reflects a certain beauty. Gifted in Israel represents designers in Israel and we sell online worldwide. Before putting my site together I have been looking for a platform to introduce amazing designers that I have met through so many portholes in this country. Sharing the story behind the creators gives meaning to the origin of their designs,  which  leads to their success and Gifted in Israel’s success.
Let me start this blog off by introudcing Galit Azar Sela. I have only recently met her but was wowed by her energy and enthusiasm.
Galit’s Baroque Jewelry Collection does just that. Here is what Galit Azar Sela has to say for herself. “Ever since I remember myself, I enjoyed beauty. I have collected arts and crafts since my youth. I believe in the healing power of pretty things around me. Everyone is beautiful and everyone deserves to have their own personal taste and private preferences.” “You are a piece of art! You are unique and express yourself every day to the world and to yourself.” Take a look at Galit at work and what she does .
it’s way of thinking makes me understand that when choosing a designer for Gifted in Israel it doesn’t really matter what is in style or not. In fact how do I really know, I just know what looks good, that is my talent and that a designer’s success is key in understanding what will make you feel good about yourself.
