Happy New Years Eve Everyone and soon to be 2015!
Every year I can never decide what to wear on New Years and every year I’m doing something completely different. Some New Years I go out to parties and sometimes I’m at home in sweatpants watching movies. Well, this year I’m doing a little of both and figured I could combine casual comfy with a little dressy.
My boyfriend and I are going to go to the store and get food to make a little romantic dinner at my house. Dinner and a movie at home calls for some comfy clothes. Well, later on after dinner and after spending some time together we are going over to a family friends house for some dessert and drinks before the official New Year. It made perfect sense for me to be in something I can wear comfortably all night, but something I could still look nice in at the same time.
So here are some tips on being comfy, but still looking nice for any occasion:
1) Leggings are a gift from God. Leggings are comfy, they look cute with blouses (THAT COVER YOUR BUTT), dresses and they are something you can wear all night and feel like you are in sweats.
2)Find one statement piece to wear to dress up your outfit. It can be a necklace, a scarf or maybe some bold earrings and minimal other jewelry. I chose a big statement necklace that adds a touch of the New Years Eve sparkle to my look.
3)Boots are your best friend! I know we ladies like to rock the high heels when we can, but if you’re walking like a baby dinosaur or a newborn baby deer….take them off. Boots can look dressy if paired well with your outfit. Boots have heels or are flat and can be way comfier than standing in painful heals all night.
4)When it came to my makeup this year I chose a more smokey eyed look. Simple make-up can work too, but you should always leave the house in foundation, mascara and a little lip color. Obviously you wouldn’t apply this to days were you are just going to the gym and getting errands done, but professional make-up artists will always tell you that you should never leave without those items on your face. You can still look natural wearing simple makeup and it makes you look more freshened up and brightens up your features.
