I don’t need to be a Baker when I start investing to build a Baking School. The Baking Studio’s objective was to help home-bakers build their business to another level including baking workshops to upgrade their skills, renting TBS as their workspace to teach their skills and attending courses as our members to be a better and smarter entrepreneur.
My director would panic with me in my kitchen fiddling with the ovens, because I still have no idea how to operate them and have yet to find my passion (and patience) to actually bake something.
But that does not deter me from what I can make possible for my community. I wanted people to enter TBS with a sense of belonging, because it was their dream I made into a reality. I sacrifice many things, learn a great deal about business and gather trust taking risks with more investments – all for the purpose of ensuring YOU, my home-bakers, have a place you can call your own.
I try my best to wear my daily make up for pleasant presentation but in no way, amd I as creative as many Make Up Artists out there who could do wonder with colours, cosmetics and beauty brushes. But that dream to want you to have your sense of belonging, was the exact reason, Lina and I collaborated to make D’Make Up Diaries establishment happen for you.
I am hardly there because I would useless when it comes to running any sort of beauty workshops. But I have invested a lot of time, planning and executing including fund it needs to put it together so you, beauty consultants, make up artist can achieve wonders with this place.
Its your haven, not mine. I am merely executing, funding DMD right out of my own savings so you can do whatever you like to progress in your career in the beauty industry. I could have pocketed some profit dividends through sales DMD generated but that was secondary to me. What’s most important, I want it utilized and made a difference to many of you because that was what I live for.
When Bebebows was created, I wanted to make it inspiring for many mothers to under an important lesson – that our children were not given to us to stop us from achieving and accomplish goals but to keep on inspiring us and motivate us that there were possible.
Having Ilana, my daughter, juggling a tuition business back then in 2009, I took the plunge to make bows at home which became commercial and present in 54 stores across Asia. It was a dream come true, and the first true sense of achievement as an entrepreneur. Being generous, Bebebows went out to teach many home-makers to make Bows through our workshops so they too had a chance to unleash their creativity and earn an income through selling them at home. As long as the world keep producing baby girls, the trend we’ve built will never ceased.
Bebebows first office starts from a room in my home to now available in stores such as Toys R Us, John Little, OG, Metrojaya and more.
I was ready for growth with Bebebows, and visited China (the first time in 10 years) brushed my Mandarin and work with the Chinese to develop its new range of costume jewelry. I wanted to show our community that if we set our mind to it, we can go places and achieve miracles.
So I took the trip to Hongkong, travelled to Luwo Border and went to their factory in Shenzhen. Their manufacturing plant is located in Dongguan China.
When I realized my skills were more than just building businesses, the knowledge I learn seemed too good to be wasted. So I made it a point to share with you knowledge that I written in lecture books and notes. I wanted the younger generation to have the mindset of a leader so without any payment, I taught at Essex Business School, Singapore Poly, NUS, SMCCI, SMU and SSA events.
I spent funds of whatever I can find, to run networking events so you have the chance to mingle with like minded individuals and tap on my network to collaborate. I do not earn from the time I spent writing you my books or organizing such events, but it gives me great pleasure of what I can contribute to my community and how little or a lot I can contribute to your business success.
I built Spendless Cosmetics Pte Ltd so thousands of you can potentially earn an income through reselling brand cosmetics. At this point in 2011, Bebebows coult literally made me retire with a good income on a monthly basis but the desire to really want to make the same thing possible for ten of thousands of people was the reason SC was born.
Working with USA, we import cosmetics of all sorts, grant websites to our resellers so they can use social media to start selling cosmetics with a high commission. We are still trying to reach our goal and is limited to funding and resources, but I can promise you I will not stop trying.
We had 250 of you on the program at its peak, but until I could lead thousands more, we will work our butt off for you.
And while I was building companies, taking investments, leading people – the media, you, the followers made me a public figure. I did not ask for fame, but there is no going back for me. All I wanted to now savour this opportunity to be able to lead you, inspire you through whatever means I can – even with a smile, a quote of inspiring words, or my true story in this life I lead.
I did not have a typical life, because I made it non-typical. But all I wanted was that chance to make my life worth living – to make differences in yours and to continue to be the voice to encourage you when everything else fails. I do not need to dress to impress you, I do not need to change the way I am – I just want you to accept me for me.
Everything I have done in the past is for my community. Everything I will do in the future is also for you. I have enough things I need in my life, but your interests has been what I live more, and you need a lot more opportunities I need to create.
Though along the way, God sent people to help and hurt me, those are times of tests of endurance that shaped my character because I know, my destiny is far bigger than the hardships I am going through now. Because I strongly believe GOD has bigger plans for me and he is preparing me for it.
