helllllooooo!
It’s been a while. I admit, it’s been crazy with all winter happenings & Christmas & New Year’s & blah blah blah. So excuses excuses. But here I am, ready to write again! I think maybe spring/summer time inspires me more to write too.
The boy and I returned from a trip home to the 206 recently and we had some awesome finds while we were there. And I like sharing the things we find. It encourages me to find more and to live more creatively/cheaply/vintage-y/etc etc.
Here’s a shot of all the stuff. Let’s go through them, yes?
There’s a child clothing consignment store that is, like, my best friend. I always find stuff there. This time, we found lots of great great things but these two things are my favorite. They’re still a little big for the boy but how can one pass up a Star Wars shirt or an Air Jordan jacket?! One of the first things we ever bought for the boy was a MJ jersey onesie that came with a little hat and slippers. So that jacket follows some kind of tradition.
I found this bowl at a consignment store in Provo called Pebbles and Twigs that has beautiful vintage/antique furniture and pieces. I love the blue on this bowl. I’m still trying to figure out what exactly to do with it but for now it’s on my nightstand next to my bed. And it looks beautiful.
THIS. HAT. I’ve been looking for a wide-brimmed hat for forever and I found this at Buffalo Exchange up in Bellingham. It fits my head perfectly and provides great shade. Plus, I love how it looks with my platinum hair. YAY FOR HATS!
My two new favorite mugs. The Starbucks one was thrifted, it only seems appropriate to have with the whole Seattle connection and all. Plus, it’s super thick so it doesn’t burn your hand when you drink something hot. The other mug is from Woodland Park Zoo, which is one of the coolest zoos I’ve ever been too. It’s so open and there are so many animals. And I love how the mug as a map of the zoo on it. It’s so clever. I love how the zoo is designed. If you’re ever there, put it on your to-do list.
One of the favorite places in the 206 is Pike Place Market. I love supporting local artists, and there are billions of them at Pike Place. I love this piece of Mt. Rainer with the wildflowers and trees all around. I can’t wait to find a frame for it and hang it up on the wall. Ahhh.
This necklace. That picture. So vintage from like the World Fair days, right? Love it. I found it at Buffalo Exchange, again. They have some of the coolest jewelry pieces. I’m obsessed with it.
And what good would jewelry be without a jewelry box? I’m on the search for the most perfect cedar jewelry box but I found this at Goodwill and it’s perfect for my rings. It’s a small little box but it has a mirror inside and plenty of room to store my rings. But cross your fingers I find my dream box for all the rest of my jewelry.
I don’t know if anyone else has this problem, but I can’t find Nora Ephron books anywhere at the bookstores here. Maybe it’s because the demand isn’t that great, or they’re “old” or whatever but I always strike out whenever I go looking. But! When I was home, I went to Half Price Books, it’s kind of like a consignment bookstore but they also sell movies and music. And they get new books in as well. So I thought I’d go peek around to see if they had this book, and voila! I was so excited! And they had an excellent stock of all kinds of books. I can’t wait to read it (I’m in the middle of another book now).
Anyway, those are my finds! I’m so excited about all of them. What have you found??
