Charleston Fashion Week Finale: What I Wore!

This was my first experience at Charleston Fashion Week and wow was it AH-MAZE-ING!! I went with my friend Courtney and we had such a good time! It was so fun getting there early and mingling with all the other Charleston fashion lovers! This event was well done with several tents filled with jewelry and clothes to purchase many of which are handmade by designers all over the country and even a place to get all dolled up. I already can’t wait until next year! Don’t worry, I will be posting about the actual show as well as some info on some of the handmade designer goods for sale that I fell in love with. But for now, here is what I wore.

I absolutely loved this dress by Show Me Your MuMu. The pattern is Miss Magnolia in the Kylie style. I had been eyeing this dress for a while and this event gave me just the excuse I needed to buy it! I went to local boutique Trés Carmen to purchase. I cannot say enough great things about this boutique. First, I called on Thursday to see if they still had this dress. They had one. I knew I wouldn’t be able to make it over to the store until Saturday as its on James Island and kind of far for me to make the trek over there on a day after work when I don’t get off until 5.  Well this was no issue. I was told that it would be no problem at all to hold until Saturday. And this is unusual for a boutique. So I already knew I loved this place. Then when I got there on Saturday I was greeted by the owner Michelle and another employee Jennifer. Both could not have been sweeter! Also, the boutique has a lot of great designers that I love wearing–Show Me Your MuMu, BCBG, BB Dakota, Gigi New York, etc. And their style is right up my alley. They have tons of southern sweet dresses but also carry styles that are a little more trendy and chic! I ended up picking up a couple other pieces for the blog that you will be seeing soon! yay!!

For the rest of my look I went with the Jasper heel in tan from Rowen at Copper Penny. These are my current favorite shoes as they can be worn with EVERYTHING! Seriously, love them. They have a thick heel so they are super easy to walk in and can be worn all day without hurting! Then I decided to pair the dress with my favorite necklace by Whitley V also from Copper Penny. This necklace is super fun. It’s a coral color so it can be worn with a lot. And then there is an arrowhead on it which makes it very unique and a little more funky than most necklaces. I also wore some coral bracelets from Copper Penny and a Bourbon and Boweties bangle. My last accessory I chose for this look was my white uber clutch by Gigi New York. I went with white to break up the coral, blush, and sea foam green of the dress and also because its officially Spring!
Hope you all enjoyed my first post! Stay tuned for my next post including info on CHSFW!
