PORTLAND, ORE. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ Relatives of NBA player Kevin Duckworth have been arrested in the theft of $32,000 in jewelry from his suburban home.
Rings, necklaces and other jewelry were taken June 30 from Duckworth’s bedroom, Washington County sheriff’s Sgt. Paul Lazenby said Monday.
“I think there was one piece of jewelry that had double-O Duck on it. That was his number, double zero,” Lazenby said.
Duckworth, a former Portland Trail Blazers center, was waived last month by the Milwaukee Bucks.
Duckworth’s cousin, Ronnie D. Duckworth, 30, and Ronnie Duckworth’s wife, Rebecca Jo, 34, were arrested after some of the jewelry turned up in a search of their apartment, Lazenby said. Each was charged with aggravated theft.
Other pieces of jewelry were found at pawn shops in the area.
“We’re still working on it. There’s still some we haven’t recovered,” Lazenby said.
The cousin did not break into the house, but was not supposed to be there, Lazenby said, adding that he did not know if the cousin had a key to Duckworth’s home.
