Hey, y’all! This week was my sister’s college spring break and seeing as she planned on staying home I thought I’d go stay with her for the week and see how much trouble we could get into.
I don’t even remember what happened the first night I got there, I just remember my mom making me take over a whole bowl of homemade spaghetti and a spinach Caesar salad; croutons, dressing, and all. Looking back on it now I think we just watched a whole bunch of Netflix while my sister gloated about the Maroon 5 concert she’s going to (which is happening tonight actually, I’m so jealous).
Tuesday was a whole other story. Mady had to work so I just hung out and watched a ton of shows on Hulu but we’ll get to that in a second. When she and her roommate, Ashley, got home we decided to pile into Ash’s car and go grocery shopping for dinner. We decided on mini hamburgers on Hawaiian rolls with mac & cheese and homemade fries. We were on a serious efficient shopping roll when Ash got an upsetting phone call. She went out to the car to wait on us while we checked out. Mady and I were carrying our bags out of the front of the store when we noticed this little old man putting his buggy into the corral next to her car. She had her head resting on the steering wheel and we could tell the dude was getting suspcious. He approached the car ready to knock on the window and check on her but I knew Ash would embarrassed so I ran across the parking lot screaming, “Sir, sir! That’s our friend! She’s okay, I promise. Thank you though.” He looked as if he did not believe me and thought I was trying to cover up a murder but I appreciated the gesture he was going for so all was forgiven. We got in the car and couldn’t wait to tell Ash, we belly laughed about it all the way home. We made a kick ass dinner that night and watched The Bachelor season finale. Ash and I were totally rooting for Whitney from Day One!!!
Now, as you can probably already tell, I watched a lot of tv during my stay so I thought I’d just quickly share with you my tv favorites from the week too.
We all woke up late Friday (thanks again, Jawbone) so we had a lazy day and I decided to stay until that evening at least. Once I finally found my way back home my lovely little Dani Lou sent me the most wonderful text. She was on her way back from her spring break trip when they stopped at the mothership…Lilly Pulitzer. Now, something you need to know about the Bluegrass state…we’ve got Lilly retailers but we do not have an actual Lilly Pulitzer store so it was an incredible treat for Dani to get to stop at the one in Tampa. I’m so glad she thought to share her experience with me and allow me to share it with you too. Check out her amazing pictures below. I can only hope heaven looks a lot like a Lilly store.
Isn’t she just the cutest? I love her!
Also, as if Dani and I weren’t cemented into the Sisterhood of Southern Belles enough…we liked each other’s Instagram pictures at the exact same time that night too. We’re literally the dancing twins emoji, I’m telling you.
In honor of Friday night randomness I also wanted to share that I discovered the secret world of online tarot card readings (1 & 2) thanks to Gala Darling‘s post on the New Moon + Solar Eclipse happening next Friday. I’m obsessed and sorta want to replace the Magic Date Ball on my desk with a tarot deck.
Overall, I had a pretty incredible week but enough about me…leave a comment below letting me know one fun or exciting thing that happened to you this week. I can’t wait to read what you have to say. Have a great rest of your weekend, Magnolias!

The Bachelor || Like I mentioned we were total Whitney girls so I was excited I got to share that extremely nerve racking moment with Ash.
Bob’s Burgers || I think I may have turned my sister into a fan, y’all. That is a serious accomplishment.
Fresh Off the Boat || This show is laugh out loud funny and not at all what I expected it to be but so much better.
Secrets and Lies || I can’t watch without wishing with all my might that Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon were still together but the story is pulling me through.
Wednesday may have been the best day of them all…Wednesday was shopping day! This was my sister’s day off so we hit up all the new stores that just opened up in her neighborhood; Hobby Lobby, Marshall’s, Ulta, PetCo, etc. We had a blast and got some pretty awesome stuff which I’ll take you through now.
Marshall’s – We didn’t actually end up shopping at Hobby Lobby, just browsing so Marshall’s was technically our first hit. I grabbed some Yes to Blueberries Cleansing Facial Towelettes in a travel size for a buck, The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Butter, English Tea Shop Slim Me tea, and the ultimate prize was the Light Up Metal Marquee Letter M I found for only $20.
Ulta – Would you believe that this was actually the first time I’ve ever been to Ulta? Well, it was, I usually just shopped on their website. I was pretty proud of myself for not going too crazy. I did manage to pick up the Eco Tools Deep Cleansing Facial Sponge I’ve been looking for since trying out my sister’s, I also grabbed a Freeman Facial Clay Mask in Chocolate & Strawberry that smells ah-may-zing. They were having a sale on their NYX lip products too so I couldn’t resist picking up some colors that I’ve been dying to try. I grabbed a Butter Gloss in Red Velvet and a Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul. Just an FYI on the lip creams, Tokyo and Istanbul look practically identical packaging wise but they are so different when swatched. Tokyo is actually a vibrant, super cool toned pink while Istanbul is a neutral pinky nude that’s so close to the “Kylie Jenner” look just pinker.
Walmart – Because no shopping extravaganza would be complete without a trip to Walmart. My sister actually dragged me in because she had found some great deals on costume jewelry earlier in the week but when we got there it had all been picked over so we went to the makeup section instead, of course. Turns out e.l.f. was actually on sale which is something I had never seen before so we went crazy. Mady picked up a bunch of stuff but I restricted myself to two products. I picked up the Studio Baked Eyeshadow in Enchanted and Essential Lip Balm Tint in Peach. I also grabbed some essentials, like the Equate Brand Sensitive Cleansing Facial Wipes because I forgot my pack at home but didn’t want to use all of the blueberry ones on this trip and some more Dove Dry Shampoo because I ran out and actually missed it.
Next up we stopped by my sister’s work but it shall remain nameless because she actually scored us some ridiculously good deals and I don’t want her to get in trouble. LOL She found us both Jawbone Fitness Tracker Bands for insanely cheap and we’re both obsessed with them. I don’t think either of us have taken them off except for when we upload our stats to our phone and that just means plugging it in to the headphone jack. Genius. She also got a new desk, meaning I got her old one. Yes, I’m getting hand-me-downs from my little sister…hand-me-ups?
Thursday was pretty chill until my sister brought her boyfriend over for an awkward movie night…it’s okay, they’re just an awkward little duo. I still love them both though. We all woke up late Friday (thanks again, Jawbone) so we had a lazy day and I decided to stay until that evening at least.
