Listen, Imma give it to you straighter than John Travolta was actin’ at the Oscars.
I feel art and it’s execution is equal parts left and right brain; the creative juices that may flow can only be technically executed by a skillset honed with hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude. You cannot sing that purty song you wrote if you do not understand, truly understand vocal intonation, air reservation. Singing? It’s a science, not an art.
And that supafly picture you’ve got swimming around in your head? Can’t draw it unless you pay attention to white space, detail, and holding your goddamn pencil without scrawling bathroom calligraphy all over your canvas. To draw, and paint, is down to a science. More accurately, a technical and mechanical skill.
But anyway.
I’ve been making jewelry, designing pieces in my therapy/doctor binder (I keep a binder for everything. Same with my insane notes collection from my IT career. I notate everything. No, I do not have OCD, I’m just ADHD as fuck, and forget everything when I see a shiny.). I draw. I paint my furniture. I rearrange my room and create room dividers out of fabric cause I’m poor and don’t want anyone walking in on my floppy tits trying to escape from a sports bra. I sing. I record my singing and judge the shit out of it. I put it in Audacity and use all those IT/contact center/voice skills to work on my recordings, normalize the audio, remove the peaks, master it a little. I photoshop like a boss. I have some hobbies. Sometimes I catch up on SNL. I save the golden TV shows for my SO when we’re together for the scant time we do have together. Once in a while, I bake.
So, more anyway.
I got out a canvas I got super cheap at “LOL Birth Control No” Hobby Lobby and drew the wolf the Stark banner (Game of Thrones), and went over my pencil work (erasers work on canvas!) with a Sharpie. Then I filled everything in with acrylics I mixed from a white base, then went back over the lines with the Sharpie again.
I wanted to share because my SO stole it from me because he liked it so much.
