Ten Thousand Villages

This past weekend my mom, sister, and I went to the Ten Thousand Villages on Madison Rd. The store was so cute and was full of all different kinds of merchandise from various countries all over the world. The jewelry was all so delicate and intricate it’s hard to believe each piece was hand crafted individually. We sampled their coffee that was made from beans grown in South America (SO GOOD) and checked out all of their different drinks and coffee cups from different countries. We ended up purchasing a mug that had an elephant handle on it that was made in Nepal. When we were checking out, we spoke with the saleswoman about what they do as a fair-trade organization and about the places she’d traveled. We also spoke with an employee who attends UC and was excited to hear that UC students would be visiting their other store in Peru. Overall, the experience was great and I would definitely recommend visiting the store when you get a chance :)
