5 Tips to look Slim and Smart in Salwar Kameez

     Span Salwar Kameez
Any Indian Woman’s wardrobe is incomplete without the ubiquitous Salwar Kameez. One of the most comfortable and flexible outfits, Salwar Kameez comes in a variety of styles and shapes and is worn by everyone – from a 14 year old teenager to a 70 year old granny.
But simply buying a lot of trendy and designer salwar suits is not enough. You also need to consider your body type and buy accordingly. In one of our earlier posts we had explained how you can wear the right Salwar Kameez as per your body shape. Today, we will give some more tips to look slim and smart in Salwar Kameez

The Right Length

Go for longer length Kameez to look tall and slim. These days long and designer Kameez is in fashion thanks to inspiration from Bollywood. The Kameez should be longer than your knee length but not longer than ankle length. To give you a better idea of the length, if your height is around 5 feet 3 inches then your kameez height should be 47-48 inches.

The Right Color

The right color for your Salwar Kameez is the color that suits your skin. Colors like maroon, red, blue or green are common color types and look good on almost all women.  If your skin complexion is very fair, then you can go for very dark and adventurous colors like deep blue, purple or black. If you are dusky or dark in complexion, then avoid dark colors and go for safer and conventional shades.

Churidar or Patiala

A common confusion among young women wanting to look gorgeous in Salwar Kameez is whether they should wear Churidar Salwar or Patiala. If you are slim wear Churidar, but if you are bulky and have fat around your waist and thighs go for Patiala.

The Right Makeup

Makeup is a very important part of the overall getup. If you are wearing heavily designed Salwar Kameez then wear medium makeup. If you are wearing a medium designed salwar kameez, wear dark eyeshadow, thick eyeliner, lipstick/lip gloss and a light brush of powder. While doing makeup choose to focus on your lips or eyes. Don’t overdo both at the same time. For highlighting eyes wear dark kajal and mascara. For highlighting wear lipstick and lipgloss.

The Right Accessories

Accessories are very important for Indian ethnic wear. With Salwar Kameez wear a duppatta draped around your neck or hung over your shoulder on one side. Wear the right combination bangles to give more weight to your getup. If you are not wearing a duppatta your can go for a neck jewelry.
