2015 is off to a beautiful start here in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Our average temperatures in January and February were around 38 degrees. Last month there were motorcycles out in droves as the thermometer crept upwards of 70! While our skiers are less than thrilled, the community at large seems to be happily embracing the early spring; hiking and biking trails are packed, even the sand volley ball courts are drawing crowds.
A time of year that is generally rather grey, in all senses of the term, is suddenly full of sunshine and while there aren’t buds on the trees or flowers yet, there also aren’t dirty piles of snow in the corners of the parking lots. That alone is reason to celebrate!
