Sneak Preview: Angels

Jobs
I was thinking this morning about all of the jobs I’ve held over the years. I started working when I was 13 and haven’t really quit. There was a short period of a year or so where I stayed home when my daughter was in kindergarten but other then that, I’ve always worked. I get restless and bored when I’m not working. I like being part of a team and feeling like I’m an important cog in the great big machine of life. I’m happy when I’m contributing, in some way, to the bigger whole.
I’ve never had a job before where I only work Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. It’s strange but nice to have one now. Every job I’ve ever had before this one, I have worked odd hours and odd days; sometimes 14 hours at a time, sometimes 7 days a week, sometimes only 3 days a week. I have worked grave yard, doubles, swing shifts, afternoons, evenings. I’ve bussed tables, been a waitress (Tipping is not a city in Chine, people), a bartender (again, Tipping is not a city in China), a hotel manager (quite harrowing, actually, especially when you get to find dead people in bathtubs and lost children whose half drunken parents are frantically searching for them), a kennel assistant (DOGS! YAY!), a gas station manager, and a medical assistant (my current thing which I enjoy). I’ve worked in manufacturing in a class 10 clean room (bunny suit, look it up if you don’t know what it is), in labs, in a nursing home (wiping butts and washing nuts!). I’ve been a telemarketer (sorry if I called you during Sunday supper), a debt collector (sorry, again, for being such a dick if I called you) and a very short stint as a jewelry maker (my own stuff, leaning heavily toward metal/wire work and chain maille), and a housekeeper (one of the reasons I think people are generally awful, disgusting animals). All of these jobs help make the world go round. I paid my share of taxes. I worked until I had blisters upon blisters. I have scars on my hands from broken glasses and a permanently fucked up back from carrying stock and throwing luggage on trains (I once threw 127 suitcases onto the Grand Canyon Railway train in 23 minutes). If I were to add every job I’ve ever had to my resume, it would be about 5 pages too long.

GRAND MIRAMAR: Hundreds of people get scammed in Puerto Vallarta
In Puerto Vallarta, the American Mark Talon knew the market as well as himself, where he moved like a fish in the ocean, he opened and closed businesses at the same time he was associated with those who were immersed in the timeshare industry. No one was suspicious about him, but his personality betrayed him: he was very ostentatious; he drove a big hummer and liked to wear expensive jewelry. But his luck came to an end a few months ago, when agents of the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) arrested him to response to some illegal drug trade acts occurred in the American Union. The US government has been very hermetic about Mark Talon, and didn’t report notice about his arrest.
In recent journalistic investigations, it was revealed that Mark Talon was associated with Michael Diaz, who is son of the CPA Miguel Diaz, and suddenly came back to Puerto Vallarta from Tijuana with lots of money in his pockets, enough to put several businesses in operation. Therefore, Michael Diaz has been in the spot light of the Mexican authorities.
Grand Miramar – The Company
Mark Talon and Michael Diaz opened a sales company called “Corporativo Integral” (Integral Corporate), and through this company they sold almost all the timeshare properties at the resort “Grand Miramar” but in this process hundreds of American customers got defrauded. They told them that with their purchase they would acquire a timeshare membership with which they would enter to a rent system, and in a few months they would get their investment back plus a profit.
In fact, the buyers were bamboozled with that rent system, they were told it was an intelligent investment to buy a timeshare at Grand Miramar, and this way the scammers kept asking for upfront payments and took thousands of dollars out of the victim’s credit cards, that money was transfer through the Bank of America.
Grand Miramar – The Hook
To hook the people – the Integral Corporate sellers – offered them a financial plan with a low interest rate, but when the buyers came back to the US, they noticed that their bank accounts were almost empty. It was an authentic swindle, said other scam victims by Grand Miramar like Steven, who was ripped off with 40 thousand dollars when buying 3 timeshares, and which promised rent profits never were delivered, even when he had to pay the VAT (IVA) in Mexico.
The costumers were also told that their timeshares were part of a high range rent system, that is to say, other vacacionists would pay big amounts of money and that money would be refund to the timeshare owners. Other clients decided not to keep paying and received many threatening phone calls, and when they came back to cancel the contract, no one was able to solve their issue.

Stories like this occur every day in Mexico; we see people’s faces but not their intentions. Timeshare industry salespeople are known for their aggressive sales tactics and insidious logic. two-a-day?
So here I am sitting at Starbucks in Hurst, Texas. I was three hours early for work -__- and didn’t realize it. It was a little too early to clock in, and so luckily I had my laptop with me, so I just hopped back in my car, drove across the street, bought a venti black iced coffee, and thought I’d update! I was checking stats on this blog and I have 15 followers!!!! (it may not seem like much, but it is to me) And most of them are out of the U.S.!! I kinda feel famous, and it’s really awesome!

I work as a manager at a local Office Supply store, I have a martial arts school, and an online jewelry boutique! And I do simple graphic design work for peeps, So I don’t always post often on this social media, but I do try.

Fitness class was canceled today, which make me very sad. I was ready to hit it hard today! But my knee wasn’t cooperating. It was (and still is) pretty swollen, and my dad (the fitness class coordinator person) was having pains in his rotator cuff. Injuries suck. I bought a new knee brace, though!! It was kind of a medium-priced one from walgreens, so we’ll see how it works. I was going to wear it to work today, since I’m swollen and in pain, but I think that 8 hours with a knee brace on may not be too great of an idea. Let alone, it would be soooo uncomfortable.
Anyhow, I’ll post my food later, but so far, it’s been good :-)
